Thanks for following along with us as we get closer to launching Hungry For A Day!
It’s been a few months since we rolled out our facebook and twitter pages. As fall is in full swing and the holidays right around the corner, it’s a good time to update you on where things stand here at Hungry For A Day.
We’re making progress every day and we’re anxious about launching, but you can’t see how things are progressing like we can, and it probably seems like we’re stalled out and going nowhere. Don’t worry, things are moving along very well.
Our attorney has been working hard, and we’re officially registered with the State of Georgia as a non-profit!
Right now, we’re held up as we wait on the IRS to give us their stamp of approval as an official 501c3 organization. Once we get that, we’ll be official and all the contributions we receive will be tax deductible.
In the meantime, we’re finalizing our website design, getting bank accounts, setting up online merchant accounts, designing some pretty cool stuff like t-shirts, stickers, & buttons, and narrowing down our list of organizations that we’ll be partnering with to fight hunger. We’ve ordered business cards and letterhead. Our trustees are in place, and we’re looking forward to announcing our Board of Directors shortly. To us, it’s a blur of activity, and we wish we could somehow share all of that excitement with you!
We’ve decided to wait until we receive our 501c3 status from the IRS before we officially launch and are able to share with you some practical ways to get involved in fighting hunger right here in the United States.
Stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime, I encourage you to get involved now! Go volunteer at a local shelter or soup kitchen. You won’t regret the time you spent there one bit.
