Fresh on the heels of raising over $7,000 to start a food truck to feed the homeless, we’re rolling out our summer project.
The last three years, we’ve partnered with Serenity’s Steps – an Atlanta-based nonprofit that walks with those in the sex industry. We usually provide restaurant gift cards so their team can have those first conversations with those in the sex industry. This year, we’re doing things a bit differently.
We’ll be providing compassion kits to girls that work in Atlanta strip clubs.
Here’s a little Q&A:
Why are we doing this?
At the core, we want to show them they are loved.
What’s in a kit?
Items like lotion, feminine supplies, etc. Leroy Lamar, the Executive Director of Serenity’s Steps will also be writing a 30 day devotional specifically for those in the sex industry. We’ll include a copy of that as well!
What does it cost?
How many do we need to buy?
We also want to buy a bigger gift basket for the house moms that work with these girls every day. These will cost about $75 and we need five of them.
We’ll be sharing more stories about what Serenity’s Steps does in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
